I use Zoom text
Jaws 13
jaws 12 here
jaws12 or 13, with nvda as a backup.
Bob
I use NVDA at home, and SAToGo when using the computers at school. I also occasionally use JAWS 13 (or really just the latest version of JAWS since I use it in demo mode). I mainly use JAWS now for the OCR feature and if NVDA or SAToGo doesn't read certain things. But my primary screenreader is NVDA.
Never used NVDA before.
I've heard of it though.
Using orca on Trisquel 5.0 GNU/Linux .
jaws 12, NVDA started as a backup but it's slowly replacing jaws, with eloquence voice because espeak poisons my ears, i just can't read or rpg with that voice.
There are problems I run into when I am using Zoom text 9.1 alot of the time it doesnt read text boxes whats in a dialog box and combo boxes dont even work.
Do you all have these problems with different screen readers
Jaws 13.
Jaws 13 here, and NVDA when Jaws decides to be a stubborn turd and crash at the most inoppurtune times...
window-eyes 7.5.3. It doesn't have any OCR features like JAWS but by god this thing is solid! Does exactly what I need it to, and nothing I don't.
NVDA full tme. A bit more complex than JAWS but, in all honesty, there is very little it can't do. JAWS is the backup I never bother using, unless I need tandem.
Window-Eyes 7.5 with NVDA for backup on windows and, VoiceOver on the mac.
I use voice over on the mac and jaws 11 in windows, and sometimes I use NVDA portable as a back-up.
I use jaws.
I use the mck there for it comes with voice over.;
I use the mack witch already has voice over in it.
At work Jaws is my primary and while doing installations on client's computers NVDA portable the new beta so I don't have to install a screen reader.
I use JAWS 12 and am starting to play with NVDA a bit. I didn't think NVDA could work with Eloquence so I am glad to read otherwise. ESpeak is awful, particularly bad in French. I have always been fond of JAWS, but its tendency to crash and hog memory has me looking into NVDA as a backup option.
i use my mac. with voice over. all of the time.
but some times i'll use jaws on a windows computer.
Window Eyes 7.5.3 here.
I'm gradually transitioning to voiceover, but when I have to run windows-based things, I use JAWS on the laptop. Using Safari can be a pain in the neck sometimes especially as I feel like I have to constantly scroll through stuff, but I'm learning my way around the mac the more I use it.
Ahh! give Google chrome a try. It's fast and works for most things.
I am using:
jaws for windows 11 (school computers)
voice over (my mac)
jaws 13, pirated version (my virtual machine)
I am using Jaws for home and work and on my moble device moble accessibility and currently bayta testing the latest talkback that has not made it to google play, so far it looks very promising. Talkback will even tell you if a item is unlabled that is more then I cansay for moble accesssibility.
Jaws 10. I see no good reason to upgrade at the moment. Also, in my 14 years of using windows, I've never found a synth that's clearer than Eloquence.
Or more responsive, although Espeak is a close second. RealSpeak, while a bit more human sounding, lags too much, which is why I won't use it.
I'm using jaws 13, but thinking about giving nvda a spin soon.
I've heard all these good things, i should try it out soon.
I'm using mobile speak on my phone, too. I do use NVDA sometimes, when jaws crashes for example.
